Representatives of the Innovation Area of #Portel Logistic Technologies have attended the event Ports 4.0. “The largest Open Innovation Fund for the Logistic-Port Ecosystem” organized by the Port Authority of Seville.
In this meeting, the company PORTEL presented the AIRIS project for the advanced and complete implementation of the RIS standard in the Port of Seville, now in the execution phase.
The objective of the AIRIS project is to develop an advanced information system, from Sanlúcar de Barrameda to Seville, using disruptive technologies in order to improve vessel traffic management by means of real-time data exchange.
Geographically talking, the Port of Seville is located in the interior of the Spanish territory, about 89 km from the coast, and navigation on the Guadalquivir river is marked by the tidal regime, so that ships navigate the channel coinciding with high tide. Knowing the state of the navigable waterway with greater precision on the basis of the RIS standard makes it possible to make the most of the capacity of the navigable waterway and improve maritime access to Seville.
