CARDES, ENS AND EXS APPLICATIONS now in service mode

PORTEL offers a service mode option for the application CARDES for generating cargo manifests and unloading summaries, as well as the ENS / EXS application for completion and lodgement of the Entry and Exit Summery Declaration in the Community Customs Territory (TAC).

This means that the users won’t need to have a complicated hardware structure, which avoids machine and maintenance costs. Additionally, the service mode allows the option of connecting to the applications from different locations since it’s no longer necessary to have them installed in a specific computer. The only thing needed is a compatible browser connected through a secure TLS 1.2 channel. This connection is made through the Remote Desktop Services (RDS) provided by Windows Server 2012 R2.

Currently, many of PORTEL‘s clients are using the applications in service mode, and every day more of them are choosing to switch to this option. The system is very simple, the clients pay a quarterly fee to use the service and forget about updates, installations and maintenance. Also, they can still access the service support and help desk, which provides a real added value compared to other applications on the market.
