Fruitful visit by Jorge Torrent, CEO of Portel, to Casablanca (Morocco)

Last week, PORTEL‘s CEO, Jorge Torrent, accompanied by a corporate team, visited the city of Casablanca (Morocco). The purpose of this trip was to meet with the Regional Directorate of Casablanca-Settat, led by Hassan Boutabratine, regional director of customs, and PORTEL‘s representatives.

The meeting was held in the regional customs directorate, and during the meeting, PORTEL‘s team was able to learn firsthand about the progress made in the development of the Portnet platform, the single-window service for foreign trade developed by Portel that now starts its second year of operation in the ports of Morocco.

In the same manner, Boutabratine’s team expressed their satisfaction regarding the progress made on the platform during the last months, and they also showed interest in the extension of the platform to the air and land traffic sectors. This interest stems from the imminent launch of this functionality in the Casablanca airport and its expected future expansion to the rest of the airports in the country. During the meeting, a discussion was held about the use of the platform for the deconsolidation process of containers and goods in transit to other countries of the African continent, as well as for customs warehouse management.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Jorge Torrent expressed his commitment and involvement in the progress of these projects.
