Inauguration of the offices of PORTEL Africa in Casablanca

On the occasion of its international expansion, PORTEL establishes a new office in Casablanca (Morocco). The opening of the new offices is partly a consequence of the partial split of the transportation and logistics business of the company GTD Sistemas de Información, S.A. in favor of the company Portel Logistic Technologies, S.A.U, i.e., the transformation of GTD Africa into PORTEL Africa.

The office is located in a strategic location, which will position and further boost the presence of PORTEL within the African continent. At the same time, and thanks to this new office, the potential clients of the maritime-port sector of this continent will have an efficient and closer service.

Recent achievements such as the digitalization of passenger management systems in the port of Tanger Ville (Morocco) or the ongoing project of PortNet in Casablanca and the actions in other countries such as the Republic of the Congo or Equatorial Guinea have been the definitive impetus to give way to the inauguration of the new PORTEL Africa offices.

“The Tangier and Casablanca projects are strategic in the international expansion of PORTEL Africa in markets as important for the port sector as Africa and the Maghreb. These actions should be the gateway to bringing our products and services to other countries in these areas”, said Jorge Torrent, CEO of the company.

Ultimately, PORTEL Africa is created with the main objective of developing and deploying ICT within the maritime-port sector in Africa, as it is an area that offers new business opportunities that are compatible with PORTEL’s services.
