Portel Logistic Technologies was present at the 8th edition of LOGISMED at the International Transport and Logistics Fair for the African continent and the Mediterranean that took place between 9 and 11 April 2019 in the city of Casablanca, under the theme “New levers of acceleration for logistics and trade”. On this occasion, the delegation of Portel composed by Jorge Torrent, C.E.O. and Abdelaziz Ennaciri, general director of GTD PORTEL in Africa, was present at the fair stand to strengthen new business relationships that cover all areas of the maritime and airport logistics chain.
It is important to highlight that the presence of PORTEL is essentially due to the participation of numerous international actors and operators at the International Fair of Casablanca, where representatives from all continents attended, from Europe (France, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Italy …), to the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Egypt, Jordan …), and Sub-Saharan Africa (Senegal, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Cameroon, Niger …).
PORTEL is in a phase of international expansion in which the African market represents one of its main objectives. It should be remembered that one of PORTEL‘s pioneering projects in the African continent is the contract with PORTNET S.A. in the Kingdom of Morocco, where the company assists in the management of the project and the implementation of the IT Services Center of PORTNET S.A.
Thanks to the wide catalog of products and services offered by PORTEL, at the International Fair of Casablanca, we were approached by African ports of great relevance regarding the Port Community System (PCS) solution for the management of the Port’s cargo and vessel and services.
It should also be noted that, because of our participation in the PortNet project and our company’s extensive experience in countries such as Spain or Morocco, several companies visited our Stand. The visitors were able to obtain information on the ICT solutions offered by PORTEL, with the greatest interest being the one raised by the Maritime Single Window solutions, where not only private agents involved in the port logistics chain participate, but also the public agencies that intervene in the logistics chain.
By way of conclusion, the presence of PORTEL at the International Fair of Casablanca is a new approach to numerous ports, airports and operators of the logistics chain in Africa that are in constant technological evolution.
