The Port Authority of Castellón (APC) convened its port community last Tuesday 25th to the presentation of a new service for requests and communications of verified gross weights (VERMAS) by Portel. It responds to compliance with the regulations of IMO SOLAS agreement that incorporates this service within the Port Community System Platform of Castellón Port.
Portel has been a technological partner of The Port Authority of Castellón (APC) for many years and a provider of Local Administrative Document, among others, which enables the possibility of managing the electronic exchange of information on the gross weights verified between shippers, weighing centres, consignees and terminals.
With the implementation of this system, the Port optimizes its services by providing more agility and effectiveness to the activities on a daily basis inside the Port. It also manages the operations that include weighing and the request and processing for the weighing.
As an added value, this new functionality will allow communication with Levente using Paperless Services for exportation of documents. It is already implemented in APC, directly updating Verified Gross Mass of the loading lists. In such a manner, the users of companies that interact with the Port will be able to increase efficiency in their operations, which is one of the main objectives that Portel has been pursuing for more than 20 years that is to provide its customers with the most innovative technologies and services.
